Virtual
Ages 10-13
Join MODA for a virtual studio and build an interactive winter world filled with magical discoveries.
In this virtual studio, young designers will learn how to create an exploration game using Scratch. Students will build a fantasy winter realm where players travel through frozen caves, glowing crystal caverns, snowy forests, or icy mountains while discovering whimsical creatures and hidden surprises. Using block based coding, they will explore mechanics that encourage players to venture deeper into their winter world. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.
In this Afterschool Studio, we’ll:
Use Scratch to build a short interactive exploration game
Introduce foundational coding concepts using Scratch
Strengthen logical thinking and problem-solving skills
Encourage creativity through visual design and storytelling in gameplay
Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback
Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
Tech Needs:
