MODA is the only museum in the Southeast dedicated exclusively to design. When you host an event here, our current exhibition becomes your setting. Guests move among the objects and ideas on view, and they leave talking about the experience they shared.

We welcome receptions of up to 125 guests and seated meetings of up to 60. Our team can add a guided tour, LEGO challenge, or printmaking session to any booking.

AVAILABLE SPACES

  • Lobby

    Use the lobby to greet guests, set up food and drink stations, or give guests time to browse the MODA Shop, which remains open during your event. All purchases help fund MODA’s exhibitions and programming.

  • Side Gallery

    A semi-private, highly adaptable space, the Side Gallery has hosted panel discussions, book readings, board meetings, company offsites, lunch-and-learns, and intimate seated dinners. It can be rented separately for small groups during daytime hours when MODA is closed to the public, or reserved as part of a buyout package. 

  • Back Gallery

    A high-volume space that’s great for cocktail parties and other events, from dinners to talks to discussion groups. Event availability is based on MODA’s exhibition schedule and current operating schedule.

FAQ

  • MODA can accommodate up to 125 guests.

  • A licensed bartender is required if alcohol is present. Our team can help connect you with a preferred vendor. Alcohol cannot be sold at MODA.

  • No. MODA’s exhibits cannot be moved for events. We are generally able to offer layout suggestions that work with the exhibit flow and offer a unique experience for your guests. 

  • All clients must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) before the event. We can advise you about how to get one quickly and affordably if you do not already have one.

  • MODA charges a refundable damage deposit: $500, due before the event and returned following the post-event walkthrough.

  • Organizations with 501(c)(3) status receive 15% off all packages. Proof of status is required at the time of inquiry.
