Ages 12-17
Join MODA for a virtual studio and design a travel collection featuring an imaginary winter destination.
In this virtual studio, young designers will explore how travel posters and postage stamps use illustration, typography, and bold compositions to inspire people to visit new places. Students will invent a magical winter destination such as a crystal forest, snowy kingdom, frozen waterfall, or floating ice island. Using Canva, they will create either a travel poster or a coordinated stamp collection that captures the atmosphere of their winter wonderland. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.
In this Afterschool Studio, we’ll:
Explore how travel posters and stamps communicate the character of a destination
Invent an original fantasy winter location with its own landmarks and scenery
Use Canva to create a travel poster or collectible stamp series
Practice layout, typography, color, and illustration in graphic design
Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback
Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
