Technology of Tomorrow: Solar Panel Design Workshop

  • Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) 1315 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30309 United States (map)

In-person at MODA

Ever wondered how solar technology works?

We’re joining forces with IDSA Atlanta to host Krystal Persaud — climate activist, startup veteran, and product design executive — for an exciting hands-on workshop! Krystal will chat about the history of solar panels, the latest trends in the industry, and the science behind harvesting the sun’s magical energy.

Krystal will walk us through a step-by-step tutorial of building a solar panel prototype that can charge a phone. The workshop will end with a sketching session of your own unique solar panel design — cat shaped solar panel, anyone?

Beginners are welcome — no prior electronics experience necessary!

About Krystal Persaud

Krystal is a graduate of the Georgia Tech School of Industrial Design and has 10+ years of experience as a design leader at tech startups.

The Droid Inventor Kit won Toy of the Year in 2018 and was sold internationally at Apple stores, Disney Stores, and Walmart.

She started her own company called Grouphug where she invented the Window Solar Charger. The patented invention was featured on Shark Tank in 2020 and won an investment from billionaire investor Mark Cuban. Her solar designs have been featured on the Today Show, CNBC, and the Wall Street Journal.
