Minecraft Studio: Journey to the Moon

Virtual | Ages 8 – 14

In this exciting class, young designers will embark on a thrilling journey beyond the familiar landscapes of Minecraft to explore the mysteries of the moon. Get ready for an epic adventure filled with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

In this Minecraft Studio, we’ll learn how architects and designers are creating habitats for the moon. Students will have the chance to collaborate with classmates as we design lunar bases.


In this Afterschool Studio, students will . . .

  • Explore challenges that might arise when designing structures on the moon

  • Collaborate with others to design and build villages on the moon

  • Practice using empathy in the design process

  • Learn about designing in space

  • Strengthen creativity

  • Build resilience

Requirements:

  • A Mac or PC with a strong connection to the internet. PLEASE NOTE: Minecraft Java Edition will not work on Chromebooks, tablets, or phones.

  • Minecraft Java Edition, $29.99 (https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition). PLEASE NOTE: Students with other editions of Minecraft are welcome to participate and build in their own single-player world; however, only students with Minecraft Java Edition will be able to interact with other students on the MODA multiplayer Minecraft Server.
