About the Event:

Join us for a special edition of Wine & Design featuring Atlanta-based illustrator and designer José Hadathy, the designer behind the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Atlanta Host City Poster.

Held during Public Notice: The 2025 U.S. International Poster Biennial, this evening explores the power of posters to shape identity, civic pride, and global perception. Over a glass of wine, guests will hear directly from Hadathy about the creative process behind one of the most visible design commissions in Atlanta’s recent history—and how a single image can carry the story of a city to the world.

Come prepared to explore how illustration, typography, symbolism, and storytelling converge in poster design. What does it mean to represent a city on a global stage? How do designers translate culture, history, and aspiration into a single frame?

What to Expect:

  • 5 PM: Arrive early to sip, shop, and mingle in our Design Shop.

  • 5:30 PM: Take a 30-minute guided tour from a MODA staff member.

  • 6 PM: José Hadathy shares the story behind the Atlanta FIFA World Cup poster—from concept sketches to final design—followed by conversation and audience Q&A.

About José Hadathy

José Hadathy is an Atlanta-based illustrator and graphic designer whose work blends fine art sensibility with bold, contemporary visual storytelling. He is also Manager of Creative Design for Atlanta United. Born in Quito, Ecuador, and raised in the Atlanta area, Hadathy brings a global perspective and deep local pride to his practice.

He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta, where he honed a distinctive style marked by vibrant color, layered symbolism, and dynamic composition. Today, he serves as Creative Design Manager at Atlanta United, where he helps shape the visual identity of one of Major League Soccer’s most celebrated clubs.

In 2025, Hadathy was selected to design the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Atlanta Host City Poster—one of only sixteen commissioned worldwide. His surrealist, richly detailed illustration captures Atlanta’s skyline, landmarks, cultural energy, and environmental leadership, all anchored by the iconic Georgia peach as a symbol of hospitality.

Whether designing for global sporting events or local audiences, Hadathy’s work reflects a belief that design can express civic identity, spark pride, and connect communities across cultures.
