Graphic Design Studio: Haunted House Posters

Virtual
Ages 12 – 18

About This Afterschool Studio

Join MODA for a virtual studio in which students will create spooky posters for a haunted house or spooky event.

In this virtual studio, young designers will explore how color, font, and layout choices set the tone of a design. Then they’ll use Canva to choose a poster template, layer in ghostly elements, and adjust their designs to create a chilling final product that grabs attention. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.

In This Afterschool Studio, students will . . .

  • Explore how mood and tone are communicated through color and typography

  • Strengthen layout and composition skills through poster design

  • Builds confidence using Canva’s creative tools, including templates, layers, and effects

  • Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback

  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking

Requirements:

  • A computer or tablet with internet access

  • Zoom

  • Students must have access to a free Canva account.
