Digital Art Studio: Natural Landscapes

Virtual
Ages 12–18

Join MODA for a virtual studio in which students will illustrate a natural landscape such as forests, oceans, deserts, or wetlands.

In this virtual studio, young designers will explore how digital artists use color, brush texture, and lighting to create depth and realism in nature scenes. Students will sketch a simple composition, choose a landscape type, and use Medibang Paint Pro to add terrain features, foliage, water, sky elements, or wildlife. They will focus on building mood through light, shadow, and surface texture. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.

In this Afterschool Studio, we’ll:

  • Study how light, color, and texture create mood in natural environments

  • Experiment with brushes and layering to illustrate natural features

  • Use Medibang Paint Pro to paint forests, oceans, deserts, or wetlands

  • Practice digital painting techniques that support environmental storytelling

  • Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback

  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
