About This Camp
Discover how architects design the buildings and spaces that shape how people live, learn, and gather in Atlanta. Campers will explore how homes, schools, offices, and public spaces are planned and constructed, and how architectural decisions impact accessibility, safety, and community life. Through hands-on design challenges, they will reimagine Atlanta’s built environment to better support the people who use it.
Campers will learn to:
Explore core concepts in architecture such as form, function, scale, and spatial planning
Use sketching, drafting, and model making to develop building designs
Analyze how real buildings in Atlanta respond to climate, culture, and community needs
Look at examples of innovative architecture from Atlanta and around the world
Test how light, space, and structure affect how a building feels and functions
Design and build architectural models that balance creativity, usability, and structure
At the end of the week, parents and caregivers are invited for a showcase of the campers’ creations!
What to Bring:
Campers should bring a water bottle, snacks, and lunch.
