About This Camp
How do sports shape the design of a city?
Campers will explore how recreational spaces such as stadiums, skateparks, playgrounds, and fitness trails contribute to community health, identity, and connection.
They’ll examine how cities balance the needs of athletes, fans, and neighborhoods.
Using crafting materials, campers will design creative and accessible sports spaces that bring people together.
Campers will learn to:
Investigate how sports and recreation influence urban design
Explore the social, cultural, and economic impact of sports infrastructure
Use design tools and materials to create models of stadiums, parks, and fitness spaces
Learn how real-world examples in Atlanta and beyond are making cities healthier and more fun
Consider accessibility, sustainability, and community use in their designs
At the end of the week, parents and caregivers are invited for a showcase of the campers’ creations!
What to Bring:
Campers should bring a water bottle, snacks, and lunch.
Tuition: $450 | $350 for MODA Members at the Family & Friends Level or above

This class is a creative learning environment. All registrants agree:
to be respectful of others in all circumstances
to engage in collaborative practices with classmates and instructors
to only use appropriate language in verbal and written conversation
not to troll other participants and/or their design
MODA reserves the right to remove any participant immediately if they engage in any conduct that detracts from the experiences of other participants and is not in line with the purpose of the class.

Camp registrations that are canceled 2 weeks prior to the start of the session will result in a refund of the amount paid minus a $100 non-refundable registration fee.
No refunds will be available for cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the session.
MODA reserves the right to cancel any camp or program that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements.
