Virtual | Ages 8 – 14
Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and embark on an exciting journey through time and space! Learn to create 3D designs based on cultures from the past and help bring history to life.
In this 3D design studio, young designers will use TinkerCad, a free online CAD software, to imagine, design, and construct their very own time machines. Then, through a combination of interactive lessons and individual creativity, participants will be guided through the process of designing and building a scene from a time period of their choosing.
In This Afterschool Studio, you will:
Learn about 3D design.
Learn to take ideas and give them 3D form.
Learn how CAD modeling can be used to create 3-dimensional objects.
Practice collaborative brainstorming, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
Requirements:
A working computer or tablet
A free TinkerCAD account
A reliable internet connection

Thomas Hayes is an educator, engineer and an experienced designer. Before managing exhibitions at MODA, Thomas graduated from NYU with a degree in Sustainable Urban Environments. He also has over ten years of coaching experience in rowing and archery.

MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants (if applicable). Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program.
