PLAYGROUNDS FOR EVERYONE

For Grades k – 5

During this in-museum field trip, a MODA instructor will guide students through an exploration of how playgrounds are designed for the people who use them. Students will discover how designers create places that encourage movement, creativity, and bring communities together. They will also learn how thoughtful design can help children of different ages and abilities play side by side.

Through examples of playgrounds from around the world, students will see how design has changed over time and imagine what playgrounds might look like in the future. They will think about new ideas, new technologies, and creative ways to make play even more exciting.

After exploring these ideas, students will become playground designers by building their own playground of the future using LEGO® bricks. Along the way, they will practice creative problem solving and use design to make play more fun, more welcoming, and more meaningful for everyone.

Design the playground of tomorrow using LEGO® bricks. Students will explore how designers create play spaces that inspire imagination while helping every child feel welcome.

    1 - 10 STUDENTS: $150

    11 - 25 STUDENTS: $275

    26 - 40 STUDENTS: $400

    Once we’ve agreed upon a date and time for your in-museum field trip, we’ll send you an invoice. Payment must be made at least two weeks in advance of your scheduled field trip or upon receipt if scheduling within two weeks. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, or check. Please email education@museumofdesign.org with any questions.

    Please note: registrations cancelled within two weeks prior to the field trip will result in a refund of 60%. No refunds will be available for cancellations less than two weeks prior to the date of the workshop, class, or program.
