Street Art Stroll: A Tour of East Atlanta Village

  • Intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Joseph Avenue 1245 Glenwood Avenue Southeast Atlanta, GA, 30316 United States (map)

In-person

Have you ever wondered about the stories behind some of Atlanta’s most popular murals?

Join us as we partner with Arthur Rudick, creator of the Atlanta Street Art Map, for a guided walking tour through East Atlanta. We'll explore the murals that make this neighborhood one of the city's best outdoor art galleries, and Arthur will share insights into the large-scale pieces while teaching us about the artists who created them.

East Atlanta is home to trendy restaurants, bars, boutiques, and music venues, and it boasts fabulous murals by internationally acclaimed artists sponsored by Living Walls and the Outerspace Project

This one-mile walking tour will cover standard city sidewalks and is wheelchair accessible.  Participants will meet at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Joseph Avenue. Parking can typically be found along Joseph Avenue, but you may use any public lot.

The tour will depart at 10:00 AM, but please arrive by 9:45 to complete a release form for Atlanta Street Art Map.

The cost to attend this event is $8 for Members / $12 for Future Members.

  • Arthur Rudick is a recently retired engineer who, in 2016, was introduced to two things by his niece in New York City: Instagram and street art-oriented walking tours.

“I have always liked art,” writes Rudick, but the walking tour on which he accompanied his niece in Brooklyn piqued his interest in street art. “[It] was a perfect source of Instagram content and I enjoyed the treasure hunt aspect of finding cool new images,” he explains.

When he returned to Atlanta, he searched the internet to find new murals around Atlanta for his Instagram posts, but he quickly realized that existing websites didn’t cover what he wanted to find. So he created the Atlanta Street Art Map, which highlights works across the city and serves as a database for can’t-miss murals new and old.

  • For this tour, we’ll meet at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Joseph Avenue in East Atlanta Village.

These streets converge just west of Buteco EAV — a coffee shop and bar at 1245 Glenwood Ave SE Suite 5, Atlanta, GA 30316.

Street parking can typically be found along Joseph Avenue, but you may use any public parking in the area.
