One night. One everyday object. Endless possibilities.

What can a salt and pepper shaker be?

East Atlanta Clay presents its first-ever juried Object Show, a one-night-only pop-up exhibition at the Museum of Design Atlanta featuring a selection of artists and makers reimagining one of the most familiar objects on the table.

Forget the expected pair. These salt and pepper shakers can take any shape, size, material, or form, from functional to sculptural, playful to peculiar, minimal to maximal. Together, the works explore how makers can transform an everyday object through design, craft, and a little experimentation.

What to Expect

  • Arrive early to experience SALT: A Design Story, MODA’s latest exhibition on view now through the end of October.

  • A one-night-only exhibition of original salt and pepper shaker designs.

About East Atlanta Clay & Object Show

Founded by Ashanti Hampton, East Atlanta Clay is a community-centered ceramics studio dedicated to making clay accessible, welcoming, and creatively energizing for everyone. Through classes, workshops, and community programming, the studio brings people together to learn, make, and experiment with clay. Object Show expands that spirit beyond the studio, inviting artists and makers to rethink an everyday object through their own creative lens. For its inaugural edition, East Atlanta Clay asked makers to imagine the salt and pepper shaker in all its possibilities—creating a one-night celebration of design, craft, and the unexpected.
