This Jane’s Walk, taking place in Downtown, focuses on themes of art, architecture, history, and culture.
Join Lauren Holley of Atlanta Urban Photo Walkers for a street photography walking tour. You’ll explore and photograph eight historic buildings in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. All of the buildings were built between the late 1890’s and mid-1930s and are still thriving today.
We’ll begin at the oldest and most iconic of all, the Flatiron Building (est. 1897) at the intersection of Peachtree St & Auburn Ave/Luckie St.
All ages, cameras, and levels of experience are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. This walk will take place rain or shine. Please arrive on time; late arrivals will be left behind.

Distance of Walk: 1.25 miles
Getting There: Street parking is free on Sundays and there are various paid parking decks nearby. Five Points and Peachtree Center MARTA stations are both a short 5 minute walk. The Atlanta Streetcar has 2 stops just across the street (Woodruff Park & Park Place).
Accessibility: This walk is covers bumpy paved terrain. Wheelchair accessibility may be limited.
What to wear and bring: A light and small camera with a wide or normal focal range that is easy to carry around and does not need a tripod, is recommended. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and consider sunscreen!

Jane’s Walk is an annual global festival honoring the legacy of urbanist, activist, and writer Jane Jacobs with free, citizen-led walking tours through the neighborhoods that lend so much character to our cities.
The festival promotes civic engagement and encourages leaders and participants to share stories about their communities and use walking as a means of connecting with their neighbors.

Lauren Holley is the founder and organizer of the largest photography group in Atlanta, GA (4,600+ members).
A seasoned Creative Director with 25+ years of experience, Holley brings an extensive background in painting and illustration to her experimental photographic images. Her work has graced the big screen in Times Square, shared the stage with Madonna, and gone social with Tegan & Sara.
She’s been featured in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Atlanta Magazine, and Oz Magazine. Holley has won three Reader’s Pick categories in Creative Loafing’s Best of 2015 Awards for Best Street Photographer, Local Artist Instagram, and Fine Arts Photographer.
