About the Event:

Explore identity, power, and protest—one garment at a time.

Join us for a guided tour of The Hoodie, a bold and timely exhibition that explores how a simple sweatshirt became one of the most charged and meaningful garments of our time.

Through objects, artworks, and storytelling, this exhibition traces the evolution of the hoodie from athletic wear to cultural symbol—raising questions about who wears it, where, and why it matters.

Tours are led by MODA team members and invite visitors to reflect, share, and connect personal experience with global context.

On this tour, you’ll:

  • Examine how design and function gave rise to the hoodie in sportswear, workwear, and uniform

  • Explore the hoodie’s role in subcultures—from hip-hop and skateboarding to luxury fashion and streetwear

  • Learn how the hoodie became a symbol of protest, solidarity, and cultural resistance

  • Reflect on the stories our clothes tell—and the assumptions they can trigger

  • Explore the streetwear scene in Atlanta and engage with hoodies loaned by members of the Atlanta community
