Business x Design is MODA's event series that explores how design fuels innovation, solves complex challenges, and shapes the world we live in. We invite boundary-pushing creatives to share the bold ideas and design thinking behind their work.
About the Event:
Before the first track plays, the cover tells you who an artist is — and where they stand.
In this edition of Business x Design, legendary creative director D.L. Warfield joins acclaimed author and cultural critic Dr. Regina N. Bradley for a conversation about album art, cultural identity, and the art of building a brand.
Among other things, Warfield is known for being the Creative Director and visionary the iconic cover of Outkast’s ATLiens, a project that helped define not only a sound, but a vision of Atlanta as futuristic, Southern, and unapologetically original. Over the course of his career, he has shaped the visual identities of artists including Goodie Mob, Jeezy, Killer Mike, Usher, T.I., and P!NK, translating music into imagery that carries narrative, attitude, and cultural weight.
Dr. Bradley, whose scholarship explores hip hop, Southern identity, and contemporary Black culture, brings critical insight into how these images shape cultural memory. Together, they will explore how Atlanta built a global visual language, how authenticity becomes a competitive advantage, and why intentional design is the foundation of enduring success.
