Digital Art Studio: Epic Fantasy Scenes

Virtual
Ages 12–18

About This Afterschool Studio

Join MODA for a virtual studio in which students will paint a digital landscape set in a fantasy realm filled with atmosphere, mood, and stories!

In this virtual studio, young designers will explore how artists use dramatic lighting, layered environments, color palettes, and visual storytelling to create immersive scenes. Students will sketch their idea, plan the composition, and use Medibang Paint Pro to build an environment such as a glowing forest, a floating island valley, or a magical mountain range. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.

In This Afterschool Studio, we will . . .

  • Study how lighting, color, and atmosphere create mood in digital scenes

  • Use foreground, midground, and background layers to build depth

  • Strengthen visual storytelling through environmental design

  • Transform ideas from sketches to digital art.

  • Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback

  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
