On May 26th, 2021, musician turned bike and clothing designer, DJ Mars spoke to us about creating bespoke bikes for Atlantans! Made By Mars works at the intersection between sound, style, and youthful energy.

DJ Mars spoke with Floyd Hall about bike design, music, and The Pull Up, a pop-up exhibition that was on view at Atlantic Station. The Pull Up was organized by DJ Mars and Atlanta Influences Everything.

About DJ Mars
DJ Mars has made a name for himself in music and Atlanta from touring with a wide variety of well-known musicians like Usher, NEYO, Ciara, and Keri Hilson. In 2015 he released his book The Art Behind The Tape which explores the history of the mixtape. Funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, the book goes deep into the mixtape vaults up to modern-day. Along with music, DJ Mars has always had a passion for sneakers and bikes. It wasn't until the fall of 2019 when he accidentally became his own first client when he took his DMX 29-inch Big Ripper from a powder blue exterior to a black, gold, and white vision representing his high school colors.
