POSTCARDS FOR NATIONAL PARKS

For Grades 6th – 12th

During this in-museum field trip, a MODA instructor will guide students through an exploration of how design can support environmental responsibility. Inspired by Public Notice: The 2025 U.S. International Poster Biennial, students will learn how designers use visual language to help people understand why National Parks matter.

Students will learn how National Parks were created, why they are protected, and how animals depend on these ecosystems to survive. After exploring how designers use color, shape, symbolism, and composition to communicate powerful messages, students will create their own conservation postcard.

Along the way, students will practice thinking like designers by using creativity, empathy, and visual storytelling to explore how design can encourage people to protect the natural world.

Please email Leslie Yarborough at education@museumofdesign.org with any questions.
