Drink & Design with Luba Lukova

On May 12th, 2020, we spoke with New York-based artist and designer Luba Lukova, whose first solo museum exhibition was held at MODA in 2017.
Internationally renowned Lukova is regarded as one of the most original image-makers working today. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Denver Art Museum; Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris; Hong Kong Heritage Museum; Centre de la Gravure et de l'Image imprimée, La Louvière, Belgium; the Library of Congress; and the World Bank, Washington, D.C.
Her numerous solo exhibitions include UNESCO, Paris; DDD Gallery, Osaka, Japan; La MaMa Gallery, New York; the Art Institute of Boston. In 2017, Museum of Design Atlanta presented the exhibition Luba Lukova: Designing Justice, a collection of 55 social commentary and theatre-inspired prints and posters. Loved by audiences and critics, the exhibition has become a traveling show that has energized communities around the world and the U.S. Recent exhibitions include: Restoration Plaza, Brooklyn, NY; Zarrow Arts Center, Tulsa, OK; Rogers Center for the Arts, North Andover, MA; Phebe Conley Art Gallery, Fresno, CA; Krannert Fine Arts Center, Anderson, IN; Museum of the City of Riobamba, Ecuador; The Thermos Foundation, Taipei, Taiwan; and Slup Szymon Poster Gallery, Szczecin, Poland.
