Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

Job Description

MODA, the Museum of Design Atlanta, seeks an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate Digital Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team. In this role you will work directly with the Executive Director and the rest of the MODA team to maintain and expand our marketing channels through social media marketing, content development, branding, and internal/external communication.

If you are socially savvy and are interested in helping craft and tell MODA’s  story through photos, graphics and creative content, this opportunity might be for you. This internship comes with a $500 stipend and will offer valuable marketing and communication experience in a professional work environment and the opportunity to establish business connections. Academic credit is also available.

In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should have excellent multitasking, critical thinking, and time management abilities with an ability to be able to think on the fly. The successful candidate will also have an in-depth knowledge of various digital marketing tools, techniques, and social media platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with social media content strategy, development, and monitoring (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)

  • Schedule daily social media posts

  • Design and present new social media and digital marketing campaign ideas

  • Help create and manage Google Ads and Facebook Ads campaigns

  • Create MailChimp e-newsletters

  • Assist with ongoing project to segment e-newsletter audiences and develop unique ways of communicating with them

  • Assist with maintenance of museum website

  • Recommends new tools and strategies that can be used to help expand the MODA brand internally and externally

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or recently completed an undergraduate degree for marketing, communications, business, or a similar field. We prefer that an intern has completed at least two years of college.

  • Must be able to travel to and from work locations

  • Extremely strong writing skills

  • Skilled photographer able to capture events and ongoing activities in interesting ways

  • Facility with Google applications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)

  • Proficiency in using Office 365 tools and programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Teams, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the latest marketing trends and techniques

  • Solid understanding of social media and the different channels available

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Must have a passion for marketing and storytelling

  • Experience using Squarespace

  • Familiarity with MailChimp email automation platform

Location & Schedule

Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week in-office. Some hours out-of-office may also be required. Intern will be provided office space at MODA, located in midtown Atlanta. Hours of internship are flexible.
