Field Trip: Lego Robotics - Build a robot that______. (Grades 3-8)

Join us for a hands-on, STEAM workshop using LEGO robotics to design, build, and program robots that interact with the world around them. They will learn the basics of robot building, how to control robots using drag and drop coding from the common block palette while working collaboratively. We can customize this workshop to help support what your students are learning about in their classrooms. Fill in the blank - build a robot that ______________. 

Students will:

  • Adopt designer and engineering mindsets

  • Work collaboratively to build and code their robots

  • Become familiar and/or expand upon their knowledge of LEGO robotics

  • Learn basic programming skills

  • Practice Design Thinking: defining problems, building empathy, interviewing, active listening

Logistics:

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Price: $20 per student and participating chaperone/ non participating chaperones are free

  • Registrations that are cancelled 2 weeks prior to the workshop, class or school program will result in a refund of 50%. No refunds will be available for cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the workshop, class or school program.

  • Group size: 20 max

  • Times: 10-12noon

  • Parking: MODA does not have a reserved parking area. Buses are able to park on 16th Street NE, between the High Museum of Art and First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. Please note that parking is on a first come, first serve basis. For smaller groups, with passenger vehicles, parking is available along Peachtree St. NE and in the Lanier Parking Deck located at 1337 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
