We are excited to offer once a month Girl Scouts badge workshops for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and/or Cadettes!

At MODA, we believe girls can change the world! Using prototyping materials and STEAM technologies, MODA’s once a month girl scout badge workshops highlight design as an effective problem solving tool to prepare each scout to become empathetic and innovative problem solvers of the 21st century. 

About the Badge

This January, MODA invites scouts from Daisies to Cadettes to come earn their Robotics 1 badge! Check out the official badge descriptions for each scout rank below.

Daisies

Robotics 1: What Robots Do

Learn about the many things robots do. Then, work in teams, like engineers, to design a robot that solves an everyday problem.

Brownies

Robotics 1: Designing Robots

Team up with your fellow Brownies to design a robot. Plan, build, and share your robot prototype.

  5. Get feedback on your robot

When you’ve earned this badge, you'll know how to plan, build, and share feedback like an engineer by creating a prototype of a robot that helps other people or animals.

Juniors

Robotics 1: Designing Robots

Plan and build a prototype of a robot that solves a global problem.

Cadettes

Robotics 1: Designing Robots

Build a prototype of a new kind of robot that could help someone to overcome a daily obstacle. Decide on a challenge, brainstorm solutions, plan, build a prototype, and test it to see how well it meets the challenge.

When you’ve earned this badge, you'll know how to design a robot and build a prototype.

Logistics:

  • 4th Saturday of the month

  • Duration: 10-12noon

  • Price: $25 per girl scout / chaperones are free. Please pre-register and pay in advance.

  • Registrations that are cancelled 2 weeks prior to the workshop, class or school program will result in a refund of 50%. No refunds will be available for cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the workshop, class or school program.

  • Group size: max 30 Scouts
