Is Atlanta a habitat even though it is a city? Absolutely! In this workshop, students will learn about urban habitats and the animals which live in them. They will look at the effects of urbanization of natural habitats, how designers plan and renovate spaces to include wildlife within the built environment. Students will learn about threatened and endangered ecosystems in Georgia and the challenges facing the organisms that make them up, then they will design wildlife habitats/microhabitats for their own homes and communities.
