Join other MODA Sustaining Members and our Membership and Development Associate Anna Slaughter for a field trip to The Hive at Georgia Tech.
The Hive is a newly completed makerspace in the heart of Georgia Tech’s central campus (see photo above),. On this tour, its architects, David Yokum and Brian Bell of BLDGS, will share the challenges and potentials of the building’s transformation from a round, windowless, concrete domed auditorium into a light-filled, accessible hive of activity supporting the culture of making at Georgia Tech.
If time and interest permit, we’ll also visit the Caddell Building, another small adaptive reuse project designed by BLDGS that has had a big impact on the Georgia Tech Campus.
We’ll meet in the visitors' parking lot at 355 Ferst Avenue on the Gerogia Tech Campus and walk together to The Hive. You’ll need to pay for parking in the visitors’ lot and can do that on site or using the Parkmobile app.
This visit is for active Sustaining Members of MODA and is free of charge. We do ask that you register in advance, so we can look for you in the visitors’ parking lot and know when everyone has arrived.
