Motors, gears, and transmissions, oh my! In this class, young engineers will explore the mechanics of their favorite forms of transportation, from bicycles and motorcycles to cars and trains. Young engineers will discover how these vehicles function from its most basic form the wheel, to gears and how motors can be incorporated to make a moving and functioning vehicle. We’ll look at different diagrams of varying mechanics used in vehicles, we’ll discuss what parts they have in commons and other various differences we explore varying types wheeled vehicles. Using this knowledge, young engineers will prototype and mock up their own models for creating working systems of gears and motors, that they will incorporate into their design.
