If you know someone who loves fidget spinners, we have a class for them that’s both fun and highly educational. At MODA, we’re super excited about fidget spinners because they’re so much fun to 3D print!
Fidget spinners are great for teaching and strengthening CAD design skills. In our 3D Printing Fidget Spinners Class, students will dive into lessons on symmetry, tolerances, principles of physics that apply to spinners like inertia and rotation, and much more. Whether students are experienced designing with Tinkercad or completely new to CAD design, we’ll make sure they have what it takes to design a unique spinner of their very own in the color of their choice. They’ll be challenged to learn and execute some new tools specific to designing objects like fidget spinners. We’ll also highlight the field of Industrial Design and learn about ergonomics.
We’ll supply a quality bearing for each spinner. Additional bearings are available for purchase.
Some of the things you'll learn:
- How 3D printing works
- Fundamentals of a basic CAD program
- How to measure and design proper tolerances
- More about symmetry and how to efficiently incorporate it into CAD design
- Some fun rules of physics focusing on inertia and rotation
- How to prepare files created in a CAD program to be 3D printed
- How 3D printing is changing design processes and how it's impacting our world

Cancellation policy: If you must cancel your plans, please notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start to receive a refund of the ticket cost minus a $10 processing fee per class. Refunds are not available if we are notified less than 7 days prior to the event start. Refunds are not available if you fail to notify us or attend the event.
MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if registration for the event does not meet the minimum enrollment requirements. If MODA cancels a program, a full refund will be issued to all registrants.
