In this class younger designers are encouraged to explore Minecraft in a developmentally-friendly way by using it as a tool for designing and building a world.
Participants will interact with Minecraft only in peaceful, daylight-only creative worlds. They will learn some computer programming basics and improve their math skills by using the heads-up displays and debug screen to improve game play. We’ll also investigate notable structures throughout history giving campers the opportunity to appreciate and have deeper understanding of architecture through building in Minecraft.
The camp will be filled with different Minecraft related activities and will challenge participants to use Minecraft in design-specific ways that are different from standard game-play.
Skills young designers will learn:
How to create Minecraft worlds on computers
Keyboarding and other computer skills
Investigating architecture through Minecraft
Basics of computer programming
