Family Free Day
The second Sunday of every month is Family Free Day at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA). Join us Sunday, October 9 for Halloween Safety Hacks.
Halloween Safety Hacks
Sustainable design just got spooky, Atlanta.
Rethink store bought flashlights, and get ready to learn more about batteries, LEDs, safety, and sustainability as you make your Halloween night a little bit brighter, and even more creative. Bring recycled materials from home, like empty water bottles, toilet paper rolls, or milk jugs, and learn about the innovative ways you can re-use or up cycle items you already own to create something new and interesting. Design a spooky ghost lantern with a milk jug or a black cat light with a toilet paper roll. We'll provide the coin cell battery and the LED, you provide the design and creativity.
Can't bring anything from home? Don't miss out on the fun! Use materials provided by MODA, like paper bags, pre- cut spooky characters made from paper, markers, coin cell batteries, LEDs, and other tools to design an innovative safety light for trick-or-treating on October 31. Make a jack-o-lantern pin to attach to your costume or add a piece of string to make it bracelet or necklace. How will you hack Halloween?
