MaKey MaKey Workshop

Come invent with us in the Makey Makey Workshop. MaKey MaKey is an invention kit for the 21st century that turns everyday objects into touchpads and connects them with the internet.

In these 1.5 hour classes, young designers in grades 4-6 will use MaKey Makey to playfully invent new devices, instruments, and controllers, or remix familiar objects. Join us for one workshop or for all of them.

Using MaKey MaKey to tinker and invent, young designers will:

  • Tinker with designs, computer programs, coding, and electronic circuitry

  • Prototype, test, and refine their designs

  • Learn how electricity is conducted and what materials are conductive

  • Improve logic skills

  • Learn through experimentation and invention

  • Develop the vocabulary that describes basic electronics

  • Test the conductivity of everyday materials and learn how electricity flows through materials and how it makes things happen

MODA members: $35

Non-members: $40

Young designers will be using MODA’s MaKey MaKey to build. If you want to continue this learning at home, we’re happy to make recommendations about appropriate MaKey MaKey sets that can be purchased for home use.
