LEGO Robotics NXT
for 8-12 Year Olds
For young designers interested in architecture and industrial design, MODA offers a special opportunity to design, build, and code robots! This year, MODA is collaborating with the Georgia Tech College of Architecture and The Lovett School to give campers the opportunity to take LEGO NXT MINDSTORMS® to the next level.
Campers new to LEGO MINDSTORMS® will be introduced to building robots and bringing them to life as they learn how to program with Common Palette and make their creations perform project-oriented tasks and challenges.
Experienced LEGO Robotics campers will use Design Thinking to delve into the LEGO MINDSTORMS® Green City Challenge and enrich their understanding of renewable energy, industrial and urban design, and architecture. Campers with an interest in coding will learn about the script behind Common Palette block coding and have the chance to try it themselves.
Skills campers will learn:
- Principles of Architecture & Industrial Design
- Develop sophisticated programming and engineering skills
- Transitions from block coding to script coding languages
- Design thinking
