Simple Circuits Field Trip Workshop - Grades K-2

Join us as we use coin cell batteries, LED lights, aluminum foil, paper clips, and glue sticks to design your own functioning flashlight! Get hands-on experience making, testing, and refining circuits that highlight basic electronic properties using both conventional and unconventional conductive and nonconductive materials. Students will take home their own flashlights!

  • Students will:

    • Learn how electricity is conducted and what materials are conductive.

    • Develop the vocabulary that describes basic principles of circuits.

    • Practice electrical safety.

    • Learn through experimentation, invention, and prototyping.
