Disagree with the current state of affairs? Join us as we create dissent collars and hone our graphic design, circuitry, and craftivism skills.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg wears dissent collars with her robes on days when she cannot verbally express her disagreement with court majority decisions. We'll kick off this workshop by admiring the dissent collars made by Roxana Alger Geffenon view in our Making Change exhibition. After taking inspiration from the dissent collars on view, we’ll be creating our own. The material? Transcripts of supreme court decisions, of course! We'll craft our paper collars and then use innovative materials like conductive paint and LED lights to make them sparkle and glow.

Bring your curious mind and we'll provide everything you need to experiment with creating an electifying symbol of your disagreement with Supreme Court decisions.

$45/ $40 for MODA Members

Appropriate for ages 16+.

This fee covers everything you need to bring home your own electrified design. Fee also includes admission to MODA’s current exhibition, Making Change: The Art and Craft of Activism.
