Join us at the design bar to explore high-tech craftivism while learning to design an object that can be 3D printed.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg wears  dissent collars with her robes on days when she cannot verbally express her disagreement with court majority decisions. We'll kick off this workshop by admiring the dissent collars made by Roxana Alger Geffen on view in our Making Change exhibition. Then, we'll sit down at computers and learn how to use a simple CAD (computer aided design) program that will allow us to design dissent collars that can be 3D printed.

Whether you’re a wiz-kid on the computer or haven’t so much as opened a spreadsheet in eons, you'll learn all you’ll need to know to 3D model a collar. By the end of the class your collar will be ready to go to print, and in just two weeks you’ll be able to pick it up at MODA.

Appropriate for ages 16+.

Participation and Materials Fee: $60 for non-members, $55 for MODA members.

This fee covers everything you need to bring home your own 3D printed design. Fee also includes admission to MODA’s current exhibition, Making Change: The Art and Craft of Activism.
