Teen JAM Field Trip to Decatur Makers

  • Decatur Makers 605 West Ponce de Leon Avenue Decatur, GA, 30030 United States (map)

Join us May 12 from 1-3 pm to explore a maker space. This field trip will take us to Decatur Makers, where designers of all stripes bring ideas into reality.

The Decatur Makers team will give us a tour of their space and help us understand what a makerspace can offer its community by sharing their stories, process, and advice. We’ll even get a chance to get hands-on in the makerspace, learning how to use a wide range of equipment to make our own lantern. By the end of this field trip, you’ll not only understand what makerspaces offer their communities, you’ll learn how to use professional fabrication equipment and take home your own lantern.

This field trip is part of MODA’s Teen Jam series which offers emerging designers (ages 15 - 20) the opportunity to explore a wide range of design fields at top local studios, speak to designers leading their fields, and participate in hands-on activities.

MODA’s Teen Jam aims to support the designers of tomorrow as they explore and grow in the first steps of their careers. We’re focusing on hosting field trips, but will host a wide range of events and programming.
