Teen JAM Design Sprint: How Designers Think

  • MODA 1315 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30309 United States (map)

Join us April 22 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. to explore how designers think. This weekend we’ll be exploring the way that designers create the awesome things that inspire us. There’s a method to the madness, and we’re going to dive right in to it!

We’ll be honing our  Design Thinking skills using the hands-on process that many designers use to find solutions to challenges large and small. We’ll start by talking about a specific design process called Design Thinking. Then, we’ll get to try out the process by working together to address a design challenge by building empathy, brainstorming, working collaboratively on teams, prototyping solutions, and iterating to improve them. By the end of the session, you’ll know how Design Thinking works and be able to start using the process on your own.

We will meet in MODA’s lobby at 12:30 p.m. This event costs $15 for non-members and $10 for MODA members. Parking information to follow.

This Design Sprint is part of MODA’s Teen Jam series which offers emerging designers (ages 15 - 20) the opportunity to explore a wide range of design fields at top local studios, speak to designers leading their fields, and participate in hands-on activities.

MODA’s Teen Jam aims to support the designers of tomorrow as they explore and grow in the first steps of their careers. We’re focusing on hosting field trips, but will host a wide range of events and programming.
