Round out your CAD experience with MODA’s Intro to SketchUp! SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program that is designed to emulate pencil drawing. Its interface is useful for a wide range of design fields such as architectural design, interior design, landscape architecture, engineering, animation, and game design. This class teaches the basic commands and skills to design architectural models and objects. Participants will use skills learned in the class to design a functional object for 3D printing.
Once the class is over, we'll 3D print your design and you can pick it up in a week or so.
Some of the things you'll learn:
- How 3D printing works
- How 3D printing is changing design processes and how it's impacting our world
- Fundamentals of designing with SketchUp
- How to prepare files created in a CAD program to be 3D printed
$35 for MODA members / $40 Non-Members
Fee also includes admission to our current exhibitions for the participant and 1 adult.
Parents and guardians, please feel free to drop off your young designers for the duration of the class or feel free to stick around, tour the exhibition, get work done, etc. There are multiple coffee shops and things to do in walking distance of MODA.
