Sketching is an important way to manifest ideas and accelerate ideation in the design process. Computer aided design tools make it easy to create great designs, but there is no substitute for the training that sketching provides.

Join MODA on the plaza for a morning of sketching architectural forms. Participants will participate in challenges teaching introductory drawing techniques used by architects and designers. They will learn and build on sketching skills with a focus on geometry, scale, and spatial representation. Participants will be encouraged to draw what they see, strengthening hand-eye coordination and resilience. At the end of class, participants take home a sketchbook of their work. Sketchbook included in cost.

Skills learned:

  • Knowledge of the Architectural Design Process

  • Sketching Techniques

  • Improved hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills

  • Practice problem solving and resilience

  • Basic design principles

  • Geometry and Scale

Cost: $35 for MODA Members/ $40 for Non-Members

Please note member discounts apply only to MODA Sustaining Membership levels beginning at $8/month or $96/year and above. For more information about memberships or to join, visit museumofdesign.org/membership/ or contact membership@museumofdesign.org.
