MODA Home School Interactive Tour: 'Living' Design Museum

MODA Home School Interactive Tour

MODA: The ‘Living’ Design Museum

Get a behind-the-scenes look at MODA’s current exhibition Food by Design: Sustaining the Future this month for MODA’s Homeschool Day! Step into the shoes of a MODA team member and participate in a tour designed by you, for you. Explore the exhibition’s layout and analyze the design choices–color of walls, video usage, how information is conveyed, accessibility, subject matter, etc.–made by curators along the way. In addition, students will understand the process of de-installing and installing an exhibition. As we tour, students will actively assist with the daily upkeep of plants and composting materials, as well as specially-designed food and plant systems that inhabit our ‘living’ museum.

Students will:

  • Understand the role museums play in educating the public
  • Analyze the story created by curators for Food by Design
  • Examine design’s place during the curation of an exhibition.

For young designers in grades 3 and up.

Participation is $7 for children and adults.
