MODA and Portfolio Center Present: Design Conversation with Louise Fili
Join us on March 2 at 7pm for a talk titled Food, Type, and All Things Italian. Louise is a graphic designer and founder of Louise Fili Ltd., a graphic design studio specializing in brand development for food packaging and restaurants.
This lecture will be held in the Rich Auditorium inside the Woodruff Arts Center. Immediately following this Design Conversation, we will be hosting an exclusive ticketed VIP reception on a first-come, first-serve basis. Details below.

Bella Cucina and MODA are proud to host an exclusive VIP reception honoring Louise Fili immediately following her Design Conversation on Food, Type, and All Things Italian. Munch on decadent bites from one of Louise's food packaging clients, Bella Cucina, and sip Louise-packaged wine as we continue the celebration of her work.
While you wine and dine, take the opportunity to tour MODA's exhibitions on view, Food by Design: Sustaining the Future and a pop up exhibit curated by Louise Fili. This VIP reception will be held in the museum from 8:30 - 10 p.m. Reception seats will fill on a first-come first-serve basis.

About Louise Fili
Louise Fili is principal of Louise Fili Ltd, specializing in food packaging and restaurant identities. Formerly senior designer for Herb Lubalin, Louise was art director of Pantheon Books from 1978 to 1989, where she designed close to 2,000 book jackets. She has received Gold and Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators and the New York Art Director’s Club, the Premio Grafico from the Bologna Book Fair, and three James Beard award nominations. Fili has taught and lectured extensively, and her work is in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, the Cooper Hewitt Museum, and the Bibliothèque Nationale. She is co-author, with Steven Heller, of Italian Art Deco, British Modern, Dutch Moderne, Streamline, French Modern, Deco España, German Modern, Design Connoisseur, Typology, Stylepedia, Euro Deco, Scripts, Shadow Type, and Stencil Type, and Slab Serif Type. Fili has also written and designed Elegantissima, a best-selling monograph of her work, as well as Grafica della Strada, Graphique de la Rue, The Cognoscenti’s Guide to Florence, and Italianissimo. A member of the Art Directors Hall of Fame, she has received the medal for Lifetime Achievement from the AIGA and the Type Directors Club.
In 2017, MODA and Portfolio Center have partnered to bring 12 of the nation's most accomplished designers to Atlanta to talk about their work, current issues in the design field, and how design can make the world a better place.
