Spooky E-mbroidery

  • MODA 1315 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30309 United States (map)

Join us on October 22nd from 3 to 5:30 p.m. to embroider some circuits!

You heard us right — we'll use conductive thread and embroidery floss to create a spooky embroidery design that lights up!

Over the past few years, people have started making circuits in new ways using conductive materials such as paints, thread, fabric, tape, pens, and the list goes on. This has enabled incredible experimentation from artists, designers, and crafters. From quilts that tell you stories, to illustrations that light up, many people have been playing with the potential of these new materials. And so will we.

You’ll make your own pattern, learn embroidery strategies, explore how circuits work, and figure out to combine the embroidery with electricity in a spooky light-up design! We’ll have inspiration available and some sample patterns to draw from, but start thinking about your pattern now.

Bring your ideas and we’ll provide the four inch hoops, needles, and LEDs!
