Introduction to 3D Modeling and 3D Printing Workshop for Educators

Has your school or organization invested in a 3D printer? Are you interested in leveling up your 3D printing skills and incorporating this STEAM technology within your classroom or workshop space?

Designed especially for those working with K-12 students, MODA’s Introduction to 3D Modeling and 3D Printing Workshop equips educators with the skills and practical knowledge necessary to effectively and efficiently get their 3D printers up and running.

From modeling to processing to exporting to loading, educators will participate in guided demonstrations using the school-friendly, computer assisted design (CAD) program, Tinkercad. With our experienced instructors, get into the minds of your students and learn what they tend to gravitate towards in Tinkercad, as well as what common problems seem to arise.

After spending some time modeling, educators will learn how to process successful prints, the simple mechanics of a 3D printer, and the proper way to load and unload filament. Before leaving, each participant will learn the best practices for maintaining the health of their 3D printers, and the easy fixes that can get a printer that is down back up and ready to use again.
